How Best To Balance Your Hormones

Modern living, modern food and pressures of life have caused a frightening imbalance of hormones which can present itself in many ways including:

  • Sleep disorders
  • Persistent Acne
  • Brain Fog or loss of concentration
  • Constant hunger or cravings
  • Digestive problems
  • Constant Fatigue
  • Mood swings and depression
  • Weight gain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Hot flushes and night sweats
  • Loss of libido

 

I see too many of this in my clinic.  We may know the basics - eating well, exercising, more sleep, less stress…I know some of it is easier said than done.

Balancing your hormones has to be approached in a 360 degree holistic manner…but there are little things you can do to help balance your hormones on a day by day basis.

hI,
I have been experiencIng chest pains that i have noticed always occur about 5 days before my period starts. It lasts for about 30 minutes and it comes in waves similar to contractions. It starts in the middle of my chest and moves up my next into my jaW. I have had an ecg With my gp which was fine. Is this something you have come across before and Could it be related to my hormones? I am 38 years old. Many thanks, lisa.

Hi Lisa, thanks for your message.

To be honest, I have not come across chest pains prior to periods in my clinic before. However chest pains can be due to many other things eg heart burn, reflux, stress or cortisol dysregulation. It’s worth asking your GP if he can organise a 24 hour ECG so you can monitor during that time to rule out anything cardiovascular sourced.

After full hysterectomy ten years ago is there anyway we could try balance my hormones as I have most of the symptoms you talk about.

Hi Susan, thanks for your question. Yes it is possible to balance your hormones even if you had a hysterectomy in the past. Important to know if you had your ovaries left or removed, and the circumstance why you had the hysterectomy. A good holistic practitioner or hormone specialist will be able to factor your past history to help you in your journey towards happy, healthy and balanced hormones. Hope that helps
